Our education teams assess the needs of each young person
and select resources and levels for future study to ensure they
are stretched to fulfil their educaitonal potential.
The full National Curriculum is taught to ensure that all
young people recieve a broad and balanced education. This comprises: Maths,
English, Science, PSHE, Citizenship, History, Geography, ICT, Design and
Technology, Food Technology, MFL, RS, PE, Art and Creative Arts. At Key Stage 4
pupils have the opportunity to follow a more flexible curriculum, including
Careers and Work Related Learning.
We offer BTEC and ASDAN qualifications for those pupils
who favour a vocational route of study. The majority of our schools employee
vocational trainers and have their own facilities to teach employability skills
in hair and beauty, horticulture, catering, construction and painting and
decorating.
All Continuum schools are ASDAN registered centres and
within this offer the GCSE standard Certificate of Personal Effectiveness
(COPE). Key Stage 4 pupils also have the opportunity to undertake work
experience or to gain vital life skills by working in a voluntary capacity in
the local community.
