Overlooking the Welsh hills, this residential children's home in Powys aims to build the self–esteem of young people through outdoor and environment related activities.

Pen y Banc is registered with the AALA to deliver activities such as hill–walking, mountaineering, gorge–scrambling, kayaking, canoeing, mountain–biking, abseiling, rock–climbing, white–water rafting and caving.

All of these activities are risk–assessed, behaviour dependent and individually organised. CSSIW registration alows young people, including those on emergency placements to stay at Pen y Banc for a maximum of 92 days. During this time our experienced staff team assess and evaluate the behavioural needs of each young person with a focus on successful future placements on departure.
